Play/Space

Play/Space

Play is a critical part of the human experience, both on- and off-planet. Toys give us an opportunity for stress relief, creativity, and collaboration with others — all critical to mental and emotional health in isolated environments.

In collaboration with LEGO, as part of my fellowship this year, I am working to design toys for the future of space travel. I aim to design and fabricate 2-3 “space toys” which all perform uniquely in a zero-gravity environment. This project builds off of existing work in the SEI that explores play and games (e.g. Scratch in Space, Zero-G-Ames, and VR Maze).
